How do I search?
There are various ways of searching for literature. Here we describe 2 methods:

Building blocks method
This method involves incorporating as many terms as possible into a single search.
Starting with your search profile (selected keywords), formulate as many related terms as possible, and combine them with Boolean operatorsbegrip uit begrippenlijst.

Snowball method
With this method you take a single publication as starting point and then search for publications on the same topic.
  • Backward Snowballing (cited publications): by finding out which publications were used by the author (see bibliography or references' list of book/article).
  • Forward Snowballing (citing publications): by finding out how often the book/article in question has been cited by other authors, you can locate more recent publications on the same topic.

The Web of Science (WoS) database allows you to find out which authors have cited a given book/article. A useful tool provided by WoS is the citation map.
